At around 250 members, the Mercer Island High School band program is one of the largest in the state. Students enrolled in the Marching Band perform challenging literature that inspires and motivates both our sports teams and audiences alike. The Marching Band performs at all MIHS home football games, as well as the MIHS Homecoming Parade in the fall. Smaller groups, our Animal Bands, perform at all home basketball games.

Our band is well respected and has played at Seahawks halftime shows, the Rose Bowl, and will perform at the Macy's Day parade in 2023. I am a section leader and play tenor drums.

I have been part of the Mercer Island band program since fifth grade.
